Hey everyone, I recently became a first-time homeowner in the Ahwatukee Foothills neighborhood of Phoenix. With a new baby on the way, I'm excited to turn my backyard into a safe and fun outdoor space for my kids. The backyard is pretty big, but it's currently a bit bare. I'm looking to lay down some high-quality sod to create a sturdy and durable lawn for the kids to play on. We're also planning to adopt a dog to keep them company, so a strong, resilient lawn is a must. I recently watched Imolaza's livestream and was intrigued by their product. I'm curious to hear from real owners about their experiences. Is it worth the investment?

Also, I'm open to any advice on the best type of grass to plant and how to maintain it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

pdclimer Hi P, congratulations first. Here is some of my advice. Bermuda grass is the best choice for Phoenix, particularly hybrid varieties like Tifway 419 or TifTuf, they can handle intense heat, heavy foot traffic, and recover quickly from wear. Currently, you may wanna remove all existing weeds and debris test and amend the soil, and add some organic matter. Wait for Apil, you can lay sod.

Congrats on your new home! In Phoenix, consider heat-tolerant grasses like Bermuda or Zoysia for a durable lawn. Prepare the soil, lay high-quality sod, and water deeply initially. Maintain your lawn by watering deeply and infrequently, mowing regularly, fertilizing appropriately, and aerating periodically. Control weeds and consider overseeding high-traffic areas. As for imolaza, I'm satisfied with it anyway.
